Award

Developing and Applying Mendelian Randomization Methods to Facilitate Drug Discovery and Solve Intractable Problems in Medical Research

Description: Mendelian randomization is a way of using genetic data to test whether particular environmental exposures, biological molecules or drug targets cause disease. The purpose of this Investigator Award is to create new statistical methods and software that use Mendelian randomization to facilitate drug discovery, and to use the Mendelian randomization paradigm to solve high value questions in medical research that have so far proven intractable to other research approaches.
