Advancing Psychosocial and Biobehavioral Stress Measurement and Interventions to Promote Healthy Aging
Description: Project Narrative Chronic stress is common and can impair healthy aging. The Stress Network has improved models and measures of stress, and will continue to advance stress science by: 1) improving and promoting the use of harmonized stress measures that enable us to compare stress and health in ten countries; 2) expanding measures of stress including existential global stressors, culture and minority stress, psychosocial resilience, and physiological stress included in our Stress Measurement Toolbox, and; 3) advancing the science of stress reduction using mobile technology through pilot and large scale digital studies. In turn, this will lead to a deeper understanding of how stress affects disease etiology and progression across the lifespan, as well as effective ways to intervene.
