Restoring Blood-Brain Function to Improve Cognition in Alzheimer's Disease

Description: The proposed research is relevant to public health because it is expected to advance understanding of blood- brain barrier function in neurodegenerative diseases and potentially establish a novel disease-modifying treatment strategy for Alzheimer's disease. Thus, the proposed research is relevant to the mission of the NIH/NIA, which is to develop fundamental knowledge that will help reduce the burden of human illness including diseases and conditions related to the aging process.
