Modulators of DNA damage associated nucleo-mitochondrial communication in aging

Description: PUBLIC HEALTH RELEVANCE: The goal of these studies is to identify the molecular mechanism(s) by which stochastic, endogenous nuclear DNA damage leads to oxidative stress and drives cellular senescence and aging. Deciphering these pathways is anticipated to yield novel targets that could be therapeutically targeted to simultaneously prevent progression of numerous age-related degenerative diseases.
