Elucidating the roles of cell surface glycans on epithelial stem cell aging
Description: いつまでも若々しく、健やかに生きることは、人類の長年の願いである。近年、身体の加齢変化の一因として、分化細胞の供給源である幹細胞の機能破綻（＝幹細胞の老化）が提唱されているが、その分子的実態は不明である。本研究では、研究代表者・佐田が専門とする幹細胞生物学と、分担者・舘野が独自に開発した糖鎖解析技術とを融合する多角的なアプローチにより、幹細胞老化の原因を究明し、老化診断・制御法の開発を目指す。
