The role of sub-lethal mitochondrial apoptotic stress in cellular senescence

Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE This project will advance understanding of the biological mechanisms contributing to cellular senescence, a known driver of aging and disease. Specifically, it will allow the investigation of mitochondrial apoptotic stress as a driver of senescence and test the efficacy of interventions inhibiting this process during aging. This knowledge could potentially lead to novel clinical treatments to counteract aging and age-related disease.
