NovaSeq Shared Instrumentation Grant for Wayne State University

Description: Wayne State University in metropolitan Detroit requests matching funds to purchase a NovaSeq next-generation DNA sequencing instrument from Illumina to support NIH funded investigators and new investigators. The NovaSeq will replace the current HiSeq2500 instrument that doesn't meet the DNA sequencing needs of the research faculty for cutting-edge cancer research, stem cell research, single cell research, and numerous other areas. Wayne State University will contribute over $675,000 in matching funds for the purchase of the NovaSeq, pay for five years of full service support, and fund salaries of Genomics Facility scientists in the next generation wet lab and analysis labs.
