Understanding the modulation of hypothalamic nuclei networks in women living with obesity under treatment with GLP1R agonist A multicenter in vivo 7T MRI study
Description: The main objective of HYPNNO7 is to provide with an unprecedented precision, an in vivo specific and non-invasive mapping in humans of the microstructure, the physiology and the functional organization of individual hypothalamic nuclei involved in eating networks by using advanced quantitative 7T magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods. After optimization and validation, the 7T MRI protocol will be deployed to study the robustness of HT nuclei characterization across a multicentric and longitudinal protocol conducted on women with normal weight. Finally, in the framework of the ANR-DGOS co-funding program, we will design a pilot clinical longitudinal study using the developed 7T MR biomarkers to evaluate in young women suffering from obesity, the effects on eating regulation networks of the weight loss induced by a recently approved drug (Semaglutide). This pilot study will aim at providing preliminary results about adaptation/maladaptation of eating regulation networks under treatment with future perspective to early prognose treatment efficiency, better understand and identify potential partial or total non-responders.
