Targeting Lysosomal Vulnerabilities in Renal Pathogenesis
Description: Project Narrative REDD1 upregulation activates autophagy through inhibition of mTORC1. We propose to evaluate the roles that REDD1 plays in renal cell carcinoma progression, the mechanisms of PIM kinase inhibitor-mediated REDD1 induction, and the link between REDD1 expression and sensitivity to autophagy inhibition. Our overall goal is to identify novel strategies to target autophagy for renal cell carcinoma therapy.
