Environmental influences and function of cytosine modification in human placenta
Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE The placenta plays a critical role in the regulation of human development and this function can be effected by environmental factors experienced during pregnancy. We aim to better define the specific epigenomic characteristics responsible for placental gene expression control, and the ways in which the environment impacts these features, with the goal of clarifying the mechanisms by which the environment influence long-term child health.
