Biology of Aging and Age-Related Diseases
Description: Project Narrative The major mission of this T32 is to train dedicated, motivated, and well-qualified predoctoral and postdoctoral fellows in aging biology and translational gerontology research. Given the projected increase in the number of older adults living in the US by 2050, it is critical that significant advances be made toward understanding the biology of aging and related diseases, and that these findings translate into enhanced care of older patients. The present T32 Program will provide state-of-the-art training in aging biology research to talented scientists, preparing them for academic careers at institutions throughout the country and equipping them to make novel contributions toward understanding the biology and enhancing management of disabling diseases of aging.
