Association between oral health and eating alone among older adults; depopulated-urban area differences and implications for evidence-based nutritional support
Description: 高齢者の孤食は、低栄養や死亡リスクを高めると考えられている。特に過疎地域では、独居や夫婦のみの高齢者世帯が増加しており、孤食である者も多い。また、同地域では食品の入手が困難なことから、食欲低下や低栄養のリスクがさらに高まると考えられる。孤食の要因には、様々なものがあげられるが、口腔の健康状態を挙げた報告は限定的である。そこで本研究では、徳島県の過疎地域に住む高齢者と、対照群として徳島大学病院に通う高齢者を対象に、まずは口腔の健康状態と孤食の実態を調査する。そして居住環境や食品の入手方法などの背景の違いが、口腔と孤食との関連や、さらには食欲、栄養状態に与える影響についても検討する。
