Time-restricted feeding (TRF) for prevention of age-related vascular cognitive impairment and dementia
Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE Age-related vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID) is a leading public health concern in developed countries to which no treatment exists to this day. Impaired adjustment of cerebral blood flow to neuronal activity (through a mechanism termed neurovascular/gliovascular coupling) in aging contributes to the pathogenesis of VCID. The purpose of this proposal is to determine how a nutritional lifestyle intervention (time- restricted feeding) regimen can ameliorate endothelial dysfunction leading to cerebrovascular gain of function and prevention of age-related cognitive impairment.
