Health and Retirement Study: Harmonized Cognitive Assessment Protocol (HCAP)
Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE This proposal aims to conduct a follow-up to the 2016 Health and Retirement Study (HRS) Harmonized Cognitive Assessment Protocol (HCAP) sub-study by re-administering in 2020 the same HCAP in-home cognitive assessment and informant report to all surviving members of the original HCAP sub-sample of HRS participants (n ~ 2,250), and to a new random sample of HRS participants aged 65 to 68 in 2020 (n ~ 720). The HCAP 2020 follow-up study will provide extensive new data to support research on the causes, consequences, and trends of cognitive impairment and dementia in the US and around the world.
