Macrophage NUDT21-mediated alternative polyadenylation in lung injury
Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE In this proposal, an RNA regulation mechanism through NUDT21 is demonstrated to play a critical role in regulating macrophage function and inflammation during Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), a prevalent and life-threatening lung injury. We designed a series of cellular and animal studies to prove whether modulating the NUDT21 pathway in macrophages could attenuate ARDS. These studies can ultimately lead to the discovery of new targets for the treatment of ARDS patients.
