Novel strategies for induction of aging in human PSC-derived lineages for modeling Alzheimer's Disease
Description: Project Narrative Human pluripotent stem cells offer access to the major cell types of the nervous system and can be used for modeling a broad range of neurological disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease. Over the last few years, we have worked extensively on devising strategies to measure and manipulate the cellular age of pluripotent-derived nerve cells, so that they better match the age of cells in the human brain affected by Alzheimer’s disease. This application builds on such progress and will extend cellular aging approaches to glial cells and apply those induced aging technologies to establish improved human models of Alzheimer’s disease.
