Dietary regulation of the hepatic epigenome
Description: As the prevalence of diet-induced obesity continues to increase, the number of people suffering from type 2 diabetes and related complications is also increasing. Here, we will investigate the short-term and long-term effects of restricting essential dietary amino acids or calorie intake, interventions that promote metabolic health, on the hepatic epigenome. We will investigate the molecular pathways which mediate these effects, and identify new physiological and molecular mechanisms that can be targeted for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity.
