Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE Food insecurity is an important social determinant of aging-related health outcomes. Understanding the impact of food insecurity on cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) is of direct relevance to the mission of the NIH, and specifically the NIA. The results of this project will have significant implications for health care providers, public health practitioners, and policymakers to synergistically address food insecurity, improve healthy cognitive aging, and reduce health disparities among older adults.
