Targeting conserved diet-responsive transcriptional networks in neurons to slow neurodegeneration in Alzheimer's disease

Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE Here we use proteomic data from human AD patients and D. melanogaster tauopathy models to identify the common genes that are altered and their transcriptional regulators. We leverage D. melanogaster AD models to perturb these transcriptional networks to examine their effect on neurodegeneration and survival. Our work identifies how diet and aging influence AD and other neurodegenerative disorders, providing novel targets for the treatment of AD.
