Wnt signaling control of vascular phenotype in obesity
Description: Project Narrative Obesity has developed into a critical public health problem with the majority of Americans currently categorized as overweight or obese. Cardiovascular and metabolic diseases are the main cause of mortality in this population. This proposal will investigate the novel regulatory role of the non-canonical Wnt-signaling pathway in mechanisms of vascular disease in advanced obesity which represents an area of high public health significance.
