Mechanisms of cardiovascular disease
Description: Cardiovascular disease remains the major cause of death in the US and around the world. Improvements in prevention and treatment for cardiovascular disease will come from research in multiple areas, encompassing basic laboratory research, human population studies, and clinical investigation. The goal of this program is to train the next generation of cardiovascular investigators across this range, so they gain the skills, concepts, and experiences required to initiate and sustain successful long-term independent careers dedicated to decreasing the burden of cardiovascular disease in our society.
