Intra-cell communication keeping us young
Description: Ageing cells contain more broken and wrongly folded proteins than young cells. The reason seems to be a clean-up process that has stopped working – perhaps because the different parts of the cell have stopped communicating with each other. Researchers in Gothenburg and Stockholm are attempting to get to the bottom of the matter. They hope to find paths leading to new therapies for diseases caused by our ageing cells.
