RAS Induced Senescence and Tumor Suppression
Description: PUBLIC HEALTH RELEVANCE: Cellular senescence limits the proliferation of damaged cells and alters the tissue microenvironment through cell autonomous and non-cell autonomous mechanisms. Using new methods and models, this project will focus on how senescent cells interact with the tissue microenvironment and the impact of these interactions on events involved in liver damage responses and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma progression. It will define roles and regulation of senescence in vivo and point towards factors that might be targeted therapeutically.
