Impact of CREBRF and its obesity-risk variant on hypothalamic glucocorticoid and neuroendocrine output using molecular, cellular, and physiological approaches.
Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE This research will define the impact of a poorly-characterized gene and its obesity-risk variant on hypothalamic neuroendocrine output using molecular, cellular, and physiological approaches. This research is relevant to the public health because it will reveal new mechanisms contributing energy and metabolic homeostasis. The proposed research is relevant to the NIH mission because it will promote the understanding of fundamental mechanism contributing to metabolic disease, thereby promoting disease prevention and treatment.
