Role of JNK and BNP in Septic Hypotension
Description: Modified Public Health Relevance Section Sepsis is a major cause of mortality and patients with sepsis cardiomyopathy have a poor prognosis. Our studies will investigate the underlying mechanisms for developing cardiac dysfunction and mortality in septic mice and patients. Our future goal is to develops therapies that inhibit these mechanisms to alleviate hypotension and cardiac failure in septic patients.
