Smart assistant to prevent and detect cognitive decline, promote cognitive function and social inclusion among older adults
Description: Neurocognitive disorder has insidious onset and progressive deterioration, which could be identified and prevented early-on in the presence of user-friendly and unobtrusive for older adults day-to-day monitoring and training. ReMember-Me aims to tackle this challenge by proposing a smart solution, implementable to daily life, offering high levels of integration between healthcare professionals, caregivers, family members and the community and enjoyable exercises for older adults. The technical architecture of the ReMember-Me system includes a multilingual-support, social robot (to minimize user burden in interaction with ICT devices and increase engagement), a tablet-based platform with cognitive games based on older adults interests and preferences, a social platform connecting older adults with community members through knowledge-sharing, individualized user-profiles and personalized health-recommendations for cognitive training, reminders and notifications, activity and sleep quality monitoring through sensors and high levels of integration for healthcare professionals and informal caregivers. System development will be executed through a co-creation and UCD methodology with the active involvement of a large number of users (primary, secondary and tertiary) throughout project progress. ReMember-Me will fill a gap in current market of services and products aimed at addressing cognitive decline in a holistic, cost-effective and enjoyable manner by combining elements missing from current solutions. 61% of project efforts are utilized by business/SME partners holding high interests in the optimization and commercialization of the final product at a National and European level.
