Characterizations of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes from different tumor locations in colorectal cancer

Description: Previous studies have suggested that the tumor location of colorectal cancer may affect the prognosis and survival rate of the patient. In this study, we have explored the possibility of whether the mutation profile detected from tumor tissues, lymphocytes, and plasma (circulating tumor DNA) may be different across different locations across the colorectal region. Several interesting observations were made: 1. No significant differences were made in the mutations detected from the tumor tissues across the different regions of the colon. 2. Mutations detected from lymphocytes from blood were also detected in the tumor tissues. 3. High concordance between mutations detected in tumor tissue and plasma, suggesting the utility of circulating tumor DNA to monitor colorectal cancer patients.
