Study of glycan-related factors associated with elderly cardiac disease targeting prevention of heart failure pandemic.
Description: 急速な高齢化に伴い心不全の罹患率は著しく増加し、2030年には「心不全パンデミック」になると予想される。高齢者の心不全は、生活の質を低下させる大きな要因であるが、老化に伴う心機能の低下は疾患としての認識が遅れ重症化することが多い。根本的な解決のために、心臓老化の状態を把握し機能低下の原因解明が必須である。本研究では、細胞接着や情報伝達など様々な生体内機能に深く関わる糖鎖に着目し、老化と疾患についての新たな知見を得ることを目的とする。そのために、高齢心不全患者を対象に、心臓の質的変化および性差における心臓と疾患との関連性について検討する。また、将来的な治療および予防のための糖鎖機能解明を目指す。
