COBRE: Center for RNA Biology in Health and Disease

Description: Project Narrative: In conjunction with the commitment to a significant focus on and investment in research on the intersection of RNA biology and human health by the Brown University Division of Biology and Medicine, this proposed COBRE Center for RNA Biology in Health and Disease (CRBHD) will provide the support and infrastructure for a new RNome Core Facility that encourages and facilitates collaboration among five well-trained junior investigators with overlapping interests. We will leverage institutional support for the purchase of equipment and prioritization of staff and faculty hiring to lay the foundation for a central resource for RNA research at Brown and in the state of Rhode Island, launching Brown as a national leader in the field. With coordinated training and mentorship, the CRBHD will foster collaborations and create a pipeline of new and seasoned investigators to expand and support a productive community of RNA researchers.
