Using 'omics to build an atlas of placental development and function across pregnancy
Description: Project Narrative Our research draws from large-scale studies of gene expression to understand how the placenta grows and develops throughout pregnancy. We will make an atlas of cell function by studying the cells that make up the placenta and determine if their gene expression patterns depend on the sex of the placenta/baby. Our studies help us understand whether or not variations in maternal stress responses have a detectable effect on the placenta, and through that, the baby.
