Development of assessment on semantic knowledge structure for individuals with aphasia and dementia
Description: We examined the relationship between aging and semantic knowledge using a feature listing (FL) task. FL is a neuropsychological method, in which participants generate words associated with a target concept. We analyzed the number and content of the words produced, treating each word as a semantic feature related to the target concept. The following results were collected from this study:1. Normative data were obtained from healthy Japanese adults for a nonverbal semantic memory test that is widely used internationally.2. The performance of the FL task was compared between a healthy young group and a healthy elderly group to determine the effects of aging on the task outcomes. We intend to continue this study to promote its future application in clinical practice (KAKENHI, 23K10434).
