RNA splicing dysfunction in Alzheimer's disease
Description: PUBLIC HEALTH RELEVANCE: Alzheimer's disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United Sates, affecting ~5.4 million Americans, but there is no cure for the disease. We propose to investigate the role of RNA splicing dysfunction in the development of Alzheimer's disease. The study will provide important insights into molecular mechanisms of pathogenesis, which may offer new strategies for therapeutic intervention.
