Investigation of regenerative medicine using osteogenic cell aggregates derived from human induced pluripotent stem cell
Description: 難治性骨折や偽関節に対する短期間かつ確実な治療法の確立は重要な課題であるが，培養細胞の移植による治療は未だ実用化に至っていない。研究代表者らはヒト人工多能性幹細胞(iPS細胞)の骨分化誘導実験に既に成功しており，またラット骨髄間葉系幹細胞(MSC)から骨形成細胞シート(OCS:osteogenic cell sheet)を作成し，その移植による骨癒合促進効果についても報告してきた。本研究の目的は，ヒトiPS細胞由来のOCSその他の骨形成細胞集合体を，免疫不全マウスの骨折モデルへ移植し，その骨癒合促進効果を検討することで，将来的な難治性骨折や偽関節等の治療法としての実用化に資することである。
