The effects of aquatic prehabilitation in knee OA patients on knee arthroplasty outcomes
Description: PUBLIC HEALTH RELEVANCE: Total knee arthroplasty is performed with increasing frequency; although the surgery is generally successful, many patients have persistent pain and disability. Prehabilitation is defined as a process of enhancing functional capacity of an individual to enable him/her to withstand an incoming stressor. This project will use individualized water exercise as a prehabilitation tool in patients with poor mobility undergoing total knee arthroplasty to determine if prehabilitation can improve postoperative outcomes.
