Mechanisms of genetic variants in TH2 autoimmunity

Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a systemic fibrosing inflammatory disease that frequently presents with an allergic predisposition driven by a TH2 response. We have identified two genetic variants in familial IgG4-RD. Here we propose to develop immunological models how these variants cause loss of tolerance and TH2 polarization that may be relevant for non-familial IgG4-RD and other polygenic autoimmune diseases.
