Construction of the Screening Behavior Support System for Colorectal Cancer Organized Screening

Description: The purpose of this study was to construct an examination behavior support system for colorectal cancer screening, and to examine the effect of an intervention-type educational activity using ICT.As a result, national survey data on colorectal cancer screening were classified into four categories: (1) examinees, (2) non-examinees <intention to undergo screening>, <goal to undergo screening>, and <indifference>.The intervention group showed increased willingness to undergo medical checkups due to “a sense of difficulty in undergoing medical checkups” and “a desire to undergo medical checkups casually, as well as understanding of the disease and medical checkups by family and friends. The effect of colorectal cancer screening behavior support system for intervention-based awareness-raising activities was confirmed, and the need for its continuation was indicated.
