Canagliflozin as a Neuroprotective Agent to Improve Neuroinflammation and Cognitive Function during Aging

Description: NARRATIVE The experiments proposed in this application will directly test the effects of a novel anti-diabetes drug, Canagliflozin on cognitive function, molecular signaling pathways that modulate aging, and cells sex-specific heterogeneity immune and transcriptional profile in aged mice and the Alzheimer's disease mice models. These studies are expected to have a substantial translational impact since Cana is already in clinical use. Thus, identifying Cana as a potential treatment for age-related neurodegenerative diseases can improve health outcomes and quality of life for a large group of society.
