NOTCH3 N-terminal fragmentation in cerebral small vessel disease
Description: NARRATIVE Though small vessel disease (SVD) of the brain has been well-described as a cause of stroke and vascular dementia, little is known about its molecular pathogenesis. We have discovered a new protein fragment of NOTCH3 (NTF), derived from the N-terminus of the protein. Identification of a role for NTF in SVD pathogenesis could provide a new therapeutic target for treatment of SVD.
