COngenital Diarrhea and Enteropathy (PediCODE) Consortium and BioRepository
Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE COngenital Diarrhea and Enteropathy (CoDE) are rare monogenic disorders that are under-researched and associated with enormous management costs and adverse life-long outcomes. Our main objective is to uncover the genetic origins of congenital diarrhea in children, understand the unique characteristics of these conditions, and study the responsible genes' underlying molecular and cellular mechanisms. We will use these insights to enable tools and resources for the research community, provide information and expertise to patients and the public, and develop new strategies for treatment using patient-derived cellular systems and animal models.
