Description: 進行性多巣性白質脳症（Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy: PML）はJCウイルス(JCV)に起因する重篤な脱髄疾患である。JCVは多くの成人の末梢部位にて無症候性に持続感染しており、免疫能の低下に伴ってJCVが再活性化および変異し、脳内で増殖する。PMLの根本的治療法は確立されておらず、深刻な後遺症もしくは致死的転帰を伴うことが多い。本研究では、PMLの背景疾患を有する患者におけるJCVの再活性化機序を包括的に解析し、そのリスク評価に資する検査系を構築する。
