Nerve growth factor (NGF) metabolic dysfunction as a marker of cognitive decline in autosomal dominant Alzheimer's disease
Description: NARRATIVE This study proposes to use plasma, CSF, structural MRI and cognitive measures to examine cross-sectional and longitudinal changes in levels of proteins related to nerve growth factor (NGF) metabolic dysregulation in individuals genetically-determined to develop early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer’s disease due to Presenilin-1 mutations. This effort will significantly improve the ability to accurately detect and classify individuals in preclinical stages of Alzheimer’s.
