Osteoporosis and Molecular Targets of Vitamin D
Description: PUBLIC HEALTH RELEVANCE: Findings from these studies will result in new insight into the mechanisms involved in intestinal calcium absorption, the factors involved in regulating vitamin D target genes in kidney and intestine and the dysregulation that occurs with aging. This study will reveal new therapeutic targets and treatment strategies to help maintain calcium responsiveness during aging and decrease risk of fracture.
