Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE/PUBLIC HEALTH RELEVANCE The research program of this center focuses on the impact of substance use on risk for, development, and progression of chronic diseases. Better understanding of this relationship is expected to benefit individuals with substance use disorders and/or chronic diseases. The center’s projects are led by early career scientists to prepare them for advanced research careers in service of public health.
