Deciphering the cellular origins and impact of toxic formaldehyde in mammalian cells
Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE Mammalian cells produce high levels of a reactive toxic chemical called formaldehyde. This proposal sets out to identify the health-relevant life factors that trigger endogenous formaldehyde production and characterize how excess cellular formaldehyde can damage cell function.
