Common and distinct early environmental influences on cardiometabolic and respiratory health: Mechanisms and methods
Description: Project Narrative Obesity, asthma, and associated cardiometabolic and respiratory dysfunction have major repercussions for quality of life, health care utilization and costs, and longevity. The overall goal of our proposal is to address the question: “What environmental exposures from conception to age 5, singly and as mixtures, influence the separate and co-evolution of obesity, asthma and related dysfunctions?” We will contribute to ECHO exquisite measures of early-life exposures, covariates, and pathways, core child health outcomes through the teen years, and innovative methods, as well as findings to be followed up in the large synthetic cohort with its diversity representative of children nationwide.
