Effectors of Cellular Senescence States
Description: Narrative Retrotransposable elements are viral-like entities that exist within the DNA of our cells. During aging these molecular parasites are prone to activation, with deleterious effects on their host cells, such as inflammation. Our goal is to develop drugs to block these elements, which we expect will alleviate age-associated diseases.
