Description: PUBLIC HEALTH RELEVANCE: Obesity and diabetes affect a large and growing segment of the population but Louisiana is disproportionately affected because of our higher incidence of metabolic disease. The COBRE at Pennington is devoted to discovering cellular mechanisms of metabolic disease and translating these discoveries into more effective treatments that will lessen the burden of chronic disease and improve the quality of life.
