Environmental, Genetic, and Epigenetic Mechanisms for Hormonal Change
Description: Project Narrative Puberty is a pivotal developmental period that has implications for physical and psychological health across the rest of the lifespan. Yet basic information regarding the hormonal, genetic, and epigenetic correlates of variability in the timing and pace of pubertal development is surprisingly sparse. This project will yield new discoveries on how environmental and genetic factors combine to shape pubertal development, and results will be useful to health researchers studying a variety of mental and physical illnesses that onset during puberty.
