Endothelial glycocalyx shedding in septic injury
Description: PROJECT NARRATIVE Sepsis is a life-threatening disease arising from dysregulated host response to infection. There are limited diagnostic tools or effective drugs to treat this problem. This study examines the molecular property and function of novel molecules produced during septic injury that contribute to multiple organ dysfunction, with the potential to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic targets for effective treatment of infectious diseases.
