Vascular Surgery Research Training (VascTrain)
Description: Vascular disease contributes to morbidity and mortality in Westernized cultures and worldwide but it remains underdiagnosed and poorly treated medically. The study of vascular disease greatly benefits from the involvement of physician-scientists who possess important clinical insights that inform the investigation of pathophysiology and treatment of disease and can translate this knowledge to therapies that can ultimately improve lives. The overall goal of this training grant is to support the development of such physician-scientists into skilled investigators who can drive vascular innovation and the improvement of vascular care.
